Stroke Awareness Month

Know the Signs. Act FAST

A stroke happens every five minutes in the UK. Each year, around 100,000 people have a stroke, and it remains one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability.

Stroke symptoms may not always feel serious - like struggling to lift your arm, slurring your words, or finding it hard to smile. But even one of these signs could mean you or someone else is having a stroke.

Any sign of a stroke is an emergency. Call 999 immediately.

The quicker someone gets treatment, the better their chances of survival and recovery. Acting FAST helps people get the urgent care they need, reducing the risk of long-term effects.
