Smear test reminder – Please book with us or GPN

Dear patients,

We are encouraging all those who have been invited for cervical screening to book their test as soon as possible.

Data shows that nearly a third (30%) of those who are eligible for their cervical screening have not taken up the offer of this potentially lifesaving test. Cervical screening can prevent up to 75% of instances of cervical cancer and is estimated to save thousands of lives per year.

We appreciate that our patients have busy lives and it can be difficult to find the time to attend a smear test during the working week.

Therefore, we are very excited to announce that we are now in a position to offer our patients additional evening and weekend cervical screening appointments at Thistlemoor or the City Care Centre via the Greater Peterborough Network.

You can also arrange an appointment at our surgery if you prefer, however, please make sure you book a smear test as it is relatively quick procedure and one of the best ways to protect yourself from cervical cancer.
