PCR Message

These symptoms are:

• A high temperature  
• A new, continuous cough
• A change in your sense of taste or smell

These rules apply to all age groups and are not dependent on your vaccination status.

If you have any of these symptoms, you must arrange Covid PCR testing on the first day of the symptoms and self-isolate as per Government guidelines while awaiting results.  

Please note that lateral flow tests are not accurate enough for patients with these symptoms. Everyone with symptoms requires a PCR test to confirm their Covid infection status. If you feel very unwell or need urgent clinical help prior to your results coming back, please do contact the practice or 111 service.
