Lakeside Healthcare at Yaxley is launching online consultations with Doctrin

We are launching a new online consultation platform, Doctrin, next month which will replace our existing Engage Consult service.

Patients will need to be registered with the NHS app to use Doctrin, so please sign up now in preparation for the January launch date.

Doctrin is an innovative platform with features including self-help advice and detailed healthcare questionnaires so we can direct your query to the most appropriate team member. Our existing platform has proved very popular with patients and the move to Doctrin means that we can continue to offer online consultations via a new provider to the UK.

Patients will access Doctrin by clicking the links on our website and they will be channelled through a series of online questions. Benefits include a personalised ‘data dashboard’ about their cases, as well as being able to manage those of their children.

Benefits for our patients include:

  • Easily accessible via mobile devices
  • 24/7 access to the platform – response back within surgery hours
  • More choice in how and when to contact us – reducing waiting times on the phone
  • Less need to travel to the surgery
  • Easy access to healthcare advice and guidance
  • Triage to the most appropriate professional
  • Allows collaborative care and handover of cases between colleagues
  • Meets national standards to provide 25% of our appointments digitally

GP Partner and Lakeside Healthcare at Yaxley’s Non-Executive Director, Dr Stephanie Betts-Masters said: ‘Our patients at Yaxley already make good use of our existing online platform and we are hoping to build on this and improve their experience by introducing Doctrin. We feel that Doctrin will give a number of key advantages to our patients and allow us to continue to provide excellent access despite challenging times across the NHS. Doctrin has received very positive feedback after being introduced at three of our sister Lakeside practices. We are encouraging all patients to sign up for the NHS app as they will need to be registered with the app in order to access the platform from our website. Ideally they would do this before they have a healthcare need as it may take some time for the registration to be validated, depending on demand. The NHS app will also allow patients to access Covid vaccination records and other useful healthcare information.’

The new platform will begin in Yaxley in late January.
