Drop in event for local veterans

The South Peterborough Primary Care hosted a successful Veterans Event at Castor Lodge Care Home for patients of Yaxley and Wansford surgeries.
The event brought together local and national organisations to offer advice and support to our veterans and current serving military personnel.
It was fantastic to see so many patients attend, not only to meet the visiting organisations but also to socialise and connect with fellow veterans. The morning created a warm and supportive atmosphere, and the organisers were delighted that two of the organisations even gained volunteers from among our patients.
Social Prescribers Marie Knapp and our Veterans Champion, Carole Gill, were present to provide guidance and support throughout the event. Special thanks were given by Dawn Farey, Personalised Care Lead, to Carole for her hard work in organising the event and for creating helpful information packs outlining the wide range of support available to our patients.
